How to Write an u-Umlaut - ウムラウトの書き方

HTML/XHTML

In HTML or XHTML source, you can use the named character entity ü (in context: Dürst). See also XML.

XML

If the document uses an encoding that doesn't include ü (e.g. Shift_JIS or EUC-JP), use a numeric character entity: ü (or ü, in context: Dürst). This also works for HTML and XHTML.

LaTEX

Use \"{u}. In BibTEX, you have to enclose it in braces, e.g. {D\"{u}rst}.

Microsoft Word

メニューから「挿入」→「記号と特殊文字」を選び、コード体系で「Unicode (16進)」、種類で 「ラテン 1 補助」を選んで、リストからダブルクリックするか、文字コードで「00FC」を入力する。

MS IME

IME のバーから「IME バット」をクリックして、「文字一覧」を選びます。パッドで「シフト JIS」を「Unicode」に変えて、「ラテン-1 補助」から文字を選べます。
